The Department of Health are seeking to appoint a Chairperson of the long-awaited Sodium Valproate inquiry via the Public Appointments Service.

Free Travel and proposed expansion of Bike Share scheme discussed in Dáil

In the Dáil recently, the upcoming changes to the Free Travel scheme were discussed.

As a result of a longstanding campaign by Epilepsy Ireland, from July, people who are medically unfit to drive for at least a year will be able to apply for the benefit. The changes being made will remove the barrier of having to be on a qualifying payment in order to access Free Travel.

The HSE’s National Genetics and Genomics Office has partnered with Amárach Research  to carry out a communications research project aimed at better understanding what patients who are referred to genetic and genomic services, and their families, need to know to help them better navigate services.

The knowledge gained will be used to work towards an improved patient experience of using genetic and genomic services.
