Across the week of the 21st – 28th October, we were proud and privileged to be the beneficiaries of the 2024 Petermarkathon – the annual fundraising drive, which is organised by the renowned Irish Salon, Peter Mark. Across the week, the 69 Peter Mark salons across the country came up with incredibly inventive ways to raise funds for our work.
Anyone who followed our Instagram page during this period will have seen first-hand some of the ways that individual salons came up with raising funds – with raffles galore, fancy dress, sponsored cycles and even multiple sightings of two very famous brothers from Manchester as part of an Oasis-themed event in one salon!
Peter Mark salons were fundraising to help continue the vital support services which are offered across Ireland by our local Community Resource Officers – a service which is depended on by people with epilepsy and their families across Ireland and a service which responds to circa 20,000 contacts every year.
Peter Mark salons also worked to raise awareness of epilepsy amongst their clients - with salon regulars revealing their own personal connections to epilepsy, helping start a wider conversation about the condition.
We would like to thank all the team at Peter Mark for their support for Epilepsy Ireland via the 2024 Petermarkathon. The funds and awareness raised by Peter Mark was phenomenal. Having a corporate partner has a profound impact on our work, allowing us to continue to provide vital services, advocate on behalf of people living with epilepsy, spread awareness through national campaigns, and fund Irish research.
