Our Living Well with Epilepsy Programme is a vital aspect of our service and is specifically targeted at adults/children who may be newly diagnosed with epilepsy.
The programme is commonly referred to as the "Toolkit" - both internally by Epilepsy Ireland and people with epilepsy and their families who regularly use the materials included in the programme.
This is because it gives a person with epilepsy and their families all the tools they need to better manage their condition and provides them with the vital information they should know at the beginning of their journey with epilepsy.
Each "Toolkit" is tailored specifically to the person's needs and as part of receiving the toolkit, your local Community Resource Officer will arrange to meet with you to discuss the materials included. Epilepsy is a complex condition and there can be a lot of information to divulge when first diagnosed - be it for the person themselves or their family members. With our Community Resource Officer talking you through the information included in this programme , you/your family will feel much more comfortable with the diagnosis and be provided with key information as you begin your journey with epilepsy.
While the Living Well with Epilepsy Programme is tailored to new diagnoses, many people with an existing diagnosis of epilepsy have found the "Toolkit" equally useful to help support them on their journey with the condition.
The Living Well with Epilepsy Programme can only be accessed via your local Community Resource Officer so please do not hesitate to get in touch today if you would like your own "Toolkit!"
