Our colleagues in the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) will be hosting a special workshop for young people living with epilepsy from across Europe on Sunday, December 8th.
The workshop will investigate the themes emerging from the recent Global Epilepsy Needs Study which was conducted by the IBE, focusing on the specific regional challenges that may be facing young people with epilepsy in Europe. The agenda for the event is as follows:
- Welcome Remarks & Workshop Overview
- Background on the GENS Survey & Preliminary Regional Results
IBE will provide a background on the preliminary results from the GENS survey, with a focus on young people’s priorities globally and region-specific. There will be a discussion afterwards, encouraging questions from attendees. - Icebreaker activity in breakout groups.
- Regional Panel: Facilitator Personal Stories
Facilitators will share their personal stories as young people living with epilepsy. - BREAK
- Prioritisation Exercise: What areas are most important to you?
During this section, there will be an exercise to identify the most important issues facing the workshop participants. - Discussion: What areas are most important to you? How can we address them?
During this section, attendees will break into groups based on the most important issues identified during the workshop and discuss how to address these issues, followed by a brief summary from each group. - Closing Remarks & Next Steps
