We are supporting our colleagues in the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) in disseminating and seeking responses from people with epilepsy and their families in Ireland to the Global Epilepsy Needs Study (GENS).
The study was previously open in just 15 countries – which garnered 2,000 responses - but has now been opened to everyone with epilepsy (18+) and their caregivers worldwide.
With over 45,000 people living with epilepsy in Ireland, we are appealing to our members, service-users and supporters to please take part in this important study.
By sharing your experiences via the study's survey, you will highlight the unmet needs you can experience in Ireland and contribute to this very important global study. Your responses will help to:
- Build on existing knowledge: Provide a more comprehensive picture of the true needs of individuals with epilepsy and their caregivers, beyond medical needs.
- Guide Global Action: Inform the development of effective policies, research, and healthcare programmes tailored to your needs.
- Empower Local Change: Epilepsy Ireland will be provided with the Irish data collected as part of this study which will be vital in helping and assisting with our advocacy campaigns for people with epilepsy and their families in Ireland.
The GENS survey will take an estimated 30 minutes to complete and will close on the 20th October – so please do not delay in taking this important survey today and help to shape a world where epilepsy is better understood and supported.
