Research Request: NUIG Study on medication adherence in young people with epilepsy

National University of Galway Masters student, Fatima Azeem is seeking the assistance of young people living with epilepsy for her research on medication adherence.

The research is investigating how medication use in people diagnosed with Generalised seizures may be associated with their understanding of the condition. The aim of this study is to understand whether people’s beliefs about their seizures are associated with the recommended use of their medicines.

Fatima is interested in examining how participants beliefs about their epilepsy, their confidence in managing it and how they cope with it can be associated with their medication adherence.

If you are interested in taking part in this research, the following criteria apply:

  • You must be aged between 18 and 28 years old
  • Participants must be diagnosed with Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures
  • Must be using medication for their epilepsy

If you meet the criteria above, you can please the anonymous survey associated with this study below. It is estimated that the survey will take between 10-15 minutes to complete. The closing date for completion of the survey is 10th June.
