New series of epilepsy research workshops taking place in November

Last Updated:

'Epilepsy in English' workshops are a series of four events designed to break down barriers between all stakeholders in epilepsy research. Organised by Epilepsy Ireland, FutureNeuro SFI Research Centre for Chronic and Rare Neurological Diseases, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, SFI and DCU PPI Ignite, we hope that the workshops will make epilepsy research accessible to all.

Our goal is to educate, equip and empower people living with epilepsy to engage with research. Each workshop will feature presentations from researchers at FutureNeuro and small group discussions to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard. Do join us and help us set the future agenda for epilepsy research!

All workshops are free and run from 6.30 to 8pm. Places are limited. You can register for one session or select as many as you would like to attend.

The themes of the workshops were selected in consultation with Epilepsy Ireland service users and are as follows:

2nd Nov: Monitoring Your Epilepsy – Jack Banks. Watch short video here.

9th Nov: SUDEP – Dr Yvonne Langan & Prof Colin Doherty. Watch short video here

17th Nov: Temporal Lobe Epilepsy – Prof David Henshall. Watch short video here.

25th Nov: Gene Therapy – Dr Matt Campbell & Dr Cristina Reschke. Watch short video here.
