The National PPI Network has officially been launched!
PPI stands for ‘Patient and Public Involvement’ and over the next 5 years, the aim of the National PPI Network is to foster an environment where health research and general research is carried out "with" patients and the public rather than being 'about' or 'for' them.
In short, the goal of PPI is to ensure that patients with long-term health conditions and the public are at the heart of the decision-making process in research that is conducted.
Epilepsy Ireland are delighted to be part of the National PPI Network; being listed as local partners with both Dublin City University and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
We look forward to working with both institutions in the years ahead and are excited to see where the development of the National PPI Network will lead Irish epilepsy research in the future.
