From our years of serving the epilepsy community, we know how the condition has its own unique challenges for the individuals living with it. Not only is epilepsy individual, but the journeys that people experience can differ in many ways.

As a person progresses on their journey with epilepsy, they learn more about the condition and can unfortunately experience barriers owing to their condition. As a person navigates these barriers, what can be beneficial is hearing from others who may be in a similar situation or who may have direct experience of what a person may be going through.

This is why we offer a National Online Support Groups for adults living with epilepsy across Ireland. The groups allow people living with the condition to discuss their experiences with epilepsy in a safe and secure environment, alongside others who may have direct experience of what they may be going through – and who may potentially be able to offer their own insights and advice on how they navigated certain challenges or experiences. The groups are offered at both a morning and evening time, to provide alternate options that best suits a person's needs.

The support group also allows people to meet with others who are living with epilepsy and form connections as they continue their journey with the condition.  The support group will also be attended by members of the Epilepsy Ireland Community Resource Officer team, who will be on hand to offer further information and support around epilepsy to all those in attendance.

If you are an adult living with epilepsy and our interested in attending our Online Support Group, you can see how to register below.

We look forward to welcoming to our support groups and introducing to others living with epilepsy from across Ireland.

PLEASE NOTE...

Adults with epilepsy who wish to attend this support group must have previously engaged with their local Community Resource Officer. It is important that there has been previous engagement in order for us to best facilitate the experience for all attending the support group. At particular points in your journey with epilepsy, individual direct support from our team may be more appropriate rather than a group setting. To make initial contact with your local Community Resource Officer, visit the ‘Our Local Services’ section of our website.
