Introduction to Mindfulness

Since the beginning of 2022, Epilepsy Ireland have been offering blocks of mindfulness sessions for people with epilepsy and their family members. The sessions take place in blocks of 6 weeks and are intended to be a continuing weekly practice for all those registered to attend.

Epilepsy can be a condition that causes the mind to race and the practice of Mindfulness can be a useful technique to help recognise the challenges that epilepsy can bring, and how you can overcome them. Many of those who have attended our mindfulness sessions throughout 2022 and to date this year have provided very positive feedback on the practice and how it has helped them on their continuing journey with epilepsy.

However, we do recognise that given the weekly blocks, some people may be hesitant in joining for one session and that there are now seasoned attendees of these mindfulness sessions – which can be daunting for beginners that are new to the practice of mindfulness.

In advance of our next block of Mindfulness sessions, we are arranging this special information session about the practice, to provide further information on how it can support you on your journey with epilepsy. If you have wondered about the practice and whether it might be useful to you, do attend this information session as it will provide further insight and expertise on Mindfulness!

The session will be hosted by our Community Resource Officer, Cliona Molly. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Cliona by emailing cmolloy@epilepsy.ie.

We look forward to seeing you on the morning of the session!
