Our colleagues in FutureNeuro - the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Chronic and Rare Neurological Diseases - have launched a new art competition for children and young people living with neurological conditions.
The competition is called “My Unique Brain” and aims to get young people to express themselves creatively, while also raising awareness of their condition.
We know just how creative young people with epilepsy can be through our daily engagement with children and young people living with the condition. We especially see this in service offerings such as Get ChARTy, which is part of our Young Epilepsy Programme. (To learn more about our Young Epilepsy Programme, visit the ‘Our Services’ section of our website.)
For this reason, we’d love to see the epilepsy community represented as part of this competition – and hopefully, a young person with epilepsy will be one of the lucky winners with their artistic concept.
There are four categories across different age groups – with a €150 OneforAll voucher up for grabs under each category for the chosen winner!
The competition closes on Thursday October 10th and further details on how to make a submission and the different categories can be found by visiting the FutureNeuro My Unique Brain website.
Best of luck to all young people with epilepsy who are entering, and we look forward to seeing the winning submissions when the competition closes.
If you are a parent/guardian supporting a young person with epilepsy on their journey with the condition, please do not hesitate to reach out to your local Community Resource Officer. You can find their details by visiting the ‘Our Local Services’ section of our website.
