45 for Epilepsy: Move and Make a Difference

Group of people in EI Tshirts

This December, we are launching a new challenge called the “45 for Epilepsy: Move & Make a Difference”.

The idea behind the challenge is for participants to come up with a challenge based on the number 45, in recognition of the 45,000 people living with epilepsy in Ireland today.

So, what do we want YOU to do?

Whether you choose to walk/run/cycle/row/hike 45km over the course of the week, do 45 mins or 45 reps of exercise each day, we’re asking you to challenge yourself and fundraise for Epilepsy Ireland as part of this challenge! The main thing is that you set a challenge that works for you, wherever is convenient for you and that you enjoy it!

We are now inviting participants to sign up to this challenge - with the challenge itself set to take place between 11th to 17th December -  allowing everyone who takes part to do one last good deed before the festive season to ensure they're on Mr. Claus’ “nice” list!

How do I sign up?

This fundraising challenge is primarily based on Facebook and uses Facebook's fundraising tools. You can sign up by:

  1. Sign up to take part by inputting your details in our Givepanel Form below
  2. You will be prompted to set up a Facebook fundraiser so your friends and family can donate to support your efforts! (If you do not have a FB account, do not fret - keep scrolling!)
  3. Across the week of 11th - 17th, Move and Make a Difference for the 45,000 people with epilepsy!! Be sure to tag us in your efforts and share videos and pics of you taking part!

Who can take part?

Anyone and everyone!! Just make sure to pick a challenge that works for you and that you'll enjoy it! Your challenge can also be individual or as part of a team or a group - so don't be afraid to give friends and family a gentle nudge about taking part!

I don't have Facebook but want to help - can I still take part?

You most certainly can! Just get in touch with our Fundraising & Development Executive Roisin by emailing by emailing rdolan@epilepsy.ie or by calling 085 871 4580 and she will talk you through how you can still take part in the challenge

What if I don't meet my fundraising target?

Do not worry - any amount raised is greatly appreciated by the team here at Epilepsy Ireland and is vital to continuing our work towards our vision of a society where no person's life is limited by epilepsy.

What will the funds raised be used for?

The funds raised via this challenge will go towards supporting our community services, training and education programmes, advocacy & awareness campaigns, and investment in epilepsy research. You can read more about how Epilepsy Ireland uses and generates our funds by visiting the 'Governance' section of our website.

Anything else?

If you are so kind to take part in this challenge in support of Epilepsy Ireland, we will send you a FREE t-shirt for taking part. If taking part on Facebook, you'll also be invited to join our private Facebook Group for challenge participants where you can communicate with others taking part; share your ideas for your challenge; and share your progress during the week of the challenge itself!

We'd like to thank everyone in advance for taking part - we greatly appreciate your efforts in support of Epilepsy Ireland. If you have any further questions about the "45 for Epilepsy: Move and Make a Difference" challenge, please get in touch with our Fundraising & Development Executive Roisin Dolan by emailing rdolan@epilepsy.ie or by calling 085 871 4580.
