At the end of April, Epilepsy Ireland and every other charitable organisation across Ireland received the shocking news that Facebook & Instagram will discontinue fundraising tools for charities in the European Economic Area (EEA) at the end of June.

Upcoming Free Travel Changes discussed in Dáil

With the long-awaited changes to the Free Travel scheme due to come into effect in July – advocated for by Epilepsy Ireland – the impending changes were recently discussed in the Dail.

The matter was raised by Deputy Ciarán Cannon with Minister for Social Protection, Deputy Heather Humphreys – with Deputy Cannon in particular querying details on the application process which will be involved.

EPIKNOW Study seeking volunteers!

If you are a woman with epilepsy, or a family member of a women with epilepsy, you might be interested in helping a study which we believe may have the potential to make a huge impact on the future care of women with epilepsy in Ireland, who are planning pregnancies in the future. 

To date, no study has examined the health information needs of women with epilepsy and their families from preconception through to postpartum in Ireland. The EPIKNOW study will change that.
